It seems that America’s “freedom of speech” is becoming a threat to our national security.
U.S. Army General David Petraeus, spoke against Terry Jones’ plan to burn Qur’ans. Lieutenant General William Caldwell, commander of the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan, also commented against Dove Outreach Center’s plans saying, “We very much feel that this can jeopardize the safety of our men and women that are serving over here in the country.”
Now NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has weighed in with his opinion telling reporters, “I strongly condemn that … I think such actions are in a strong contradiction with all of the values we stand for and fight for.”
Terry Jones has been saying all along that Islam is a violent religion. I am beginning to wonder if the recent comments of some of the world’s most powerful generals is confirming this. How can people insist Islam is a religion of peace when these generals are speaking out in what sounds, to me, like fear?
