Dr. Michael Horton’s expertise in one area doesn’t necessarily translate to his expertise in others
Michael Horton is a well-known Christian theologian in North America. Christians might think that since Dr. Horton knows so much about Christian theology (and he does!) that he must therefore be an expert in Islamic theology. But does Dr. Horton get Islam right in this video? What does he get wrong?
Dr. Horton’s expertise on Christianity does not automatically make him an expert in Muslim theology and the Quran, but how would most Christians ever know?
I’ve also found this be the case when Muslims try explaining and contrasting Islam with Christianity. The Muslims I’ve listened to have always gotten it wrong (some more than others such as Ahmed Deedat and Zakir Naik) and yet how will the Muslims who listen to them ever know the difference?
