Lailat-al-Miraj is the Muslim celebration of Muhammad’s ascension into into heaven (27th day of Rajab). Here is one accounting of Muhammad’s journey,
Jesus’ ascension into heaven and Lailat-al-Miraj
Jesus’ ascended into heaven after He rose again from the dead glorified.
After he [Jesus] said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the sameway you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts Chapter 1 verses 9-11)
Jesus’ ascension into heaven was His coronation as King. It was prophesied hundreds of years before His being born of the Virgin Mary (Psalm 2; 110; Daniel 7:9-14; Matthew 26:64).
