Below are four talks J. Dudley Woodberry gave during Dallas Theological Seminary chapel services on the topic “The Fulness of the Time for the Muslim World “. Dr. Woodberry gives many examples and stories of God’s spectacular work in the Muslim world today. I highly commend these discussions (Please excuse the personal notes I’ve taken that are underneath each lecture.).
#1 The Fullness of the Time for the Muslim World (Galatians 4:4-5)
-Dr. Woodberry discusses Hurricane Katrina
-Parallels between the United States and our attempts to impose peace, Rome, and 1st century Judaism and Christianity (9:21)
#2 What is God Doing Today? What are the Evidences of Muslims Coming to Faith in Christ
#3 What Would Jesus Say and Do with Muslims? (John 4)
Some of the highlights of this talk for me were:
-The application of John 4 to missions
-The story of the king who wanted a poor Bedouins only horse
–J. Christy Wilson giving out Book of 100 Afghan Proverbs (25:10)
-“We have to hold to the essentials and just because the cross is a stumbling block, we can’t side step it. It is an essential as we know”. (32:32-32:44)
#4 What would Jesus say do with Muslims today (Matthew 16:13-27)
-Dr. Woodberry discusses parallels between people’s opinions of Jesus in Matthew 16 and Muslims, “Who do you say that I am?”

Dr. Woodberry discusses the crucifixion passages and how the cross is a stumbling block in Muslim theology.

I have to do more thinking about the barriers for Muslim conversion are not just theological but sociological. Muslims do not want to bring dishonor to themselves or their families (cf. Luke 9:23-26).

Dr. Woodberry makes a beautiful parallel between Isaac/Ishmael, Mount Moriah, the Dome of the Rock, and the sacrifice Christians are called to make in loving Muslims -giving up our ambition, wealth, lives, etc.

#3 What Would Jesus Say and Do with Muslims? (John 4)
Hi, I watched this lecture and I want to point out that Jesus never claimed to be a messenger towards any nation other than Israel., the message wasn’t universal., what would you say about these claims of gospel.,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda; for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. MATTHEW 2.6
The Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever. LUKE 1.32/33
Where is he that is born the King of the Jews? MATTHEW 2.2
Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. JOHN 12.13
Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt. JOAN 12.15
For this cause therefore I have called for you, to see you and, to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am hound with this chain. ACTS 28.20
Him that God hath exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. ACTS 5.31
0f this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a saviour. Jesus. ACTS 13.23
Jesus even forbid to preach non gentiles., so isn’t it against the teachings of Jesus Christ to preach other than Israelites.,? Whose word and decision will me authentic., yours? or the Jesus?

Jesus most certainly claimed to be a messenger to the nations; in fact, He is much more. Jesus is the Savior of the world. See for example Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:45-49; John 3:14-16; 12:32; Acts 1:8.
