ISIS and Islam
Bernard Haykel is professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University. According to the Atlantic Magazine, Bernard Haykel is “the foremost secular authority on the Islamic State’s ideology.” While Haykel believes there is nothing predetermined in Islam that would lead to ISIS, he says ISIS is is not outside the interpretive parameters of Islam.
