The Bible blasphemous?
A group of Pakistani clerics want Pakistan’s Supreme Court to declare certain passages of the Bible blasphemous. They believe the Bible’s depiction of “Muslim Prophets” undermine the prophets’ sanctity by portraying them as flawed or immoral (Pakistani Muslim Clerics: Ban the Bible).
But is the Bible corrupted or is mankind corrupted? Is the Bible in need of Muslim clerics redemption or are Muslim clerics in need of redemption?
- David was a sinner who repented of his sin (Psalm 32; 51).
- David’s son, Solomon was a sinner (1 Kings 10).
The corruption of mankind is also seen in the Muslim clerics’ claim that the Bible is corrupt. This is why we all are in need of Jesus’ righteousness (Romans 4:5).
