For those of you who aren’t familiar with Ergun Caner and are interested in learning more about him, I suggest you begin by looking at this previous post. For those of you who are familiar – even if you’re not all that interested – I recommend Phil Johnson’s “Evangelical Bunko Artists.” Phil reminds us that cutting corners to make points is not new when it comes to stealing hearts and wallets (see also Kathryn Ann Lindskoog’s “Fakes, frauds, & other malarkey: 301 amazing stories & how not to be fooled” – she’s the source of the title for this post).
Why can Christians be so gullible and then try defending or ignoring their guillibility?

It blows my mind that there are people actually defending Caner, who has proclaimed complete lies behind the pulpit. This whole thing is truly sad. I almost wish I had never heard anything about it to begin with.
