When is Hajj 2014 (Pilgrimage to Mecca)

The 2014 Hajj will be starting sometime on October 2-4.

Hajj/Pilgrimage is one of the pinnacles of Islam, and Christianity. In the Quran, the word hajj occurs nine times in five different verses (Quran 2:189 [3x]; Quran 2:196 [3x]; Quran 2:192; Quran 9:3; and Quran 22:27.

To learn more about the Islamic Hajj, I’m posting videos by Ali Gomaa. Ali Gomaa was the 18th Grand Mufti of Egypt, is a leading Islamic scholar and jurist, and taught for many years at Cairo’s Al-Azhar University—arguably the top Islamic University in the world.

Hajj 2013

While Saudi authorities have not made the official announcement, the 2013 Hajj will probably be starting on October 13. There are many places on the Internet to learn about the Hajj, but one of the most reliable I have found is Ali Gomaa. Ali Gomaa is a leading Islamic scholar and one of the world’s most influential Muslims. This post contains four videos of Sheikh Gomaa answering various questions about the Hajj.
